Based on the Custom Shop CS-336, the Kiefer 336 electric guitar features a tonally chambered back and sides made from a single piece of mahogany. The top is carved, 2-piece maple. The top finish is based on the unique look of an aged goldtop—we like to call it Kiefer Gold. The fretboard is ebony, with a classic Super 400-style inlay. The hardware is aged nickel and the guitar has a bone nut. The pickups are Gibson '57 Classic Plus humbuckers. Kiefer Sutherland, like many of us, has enjoyed a life-long love affair with the guitar. A player from a young age, and a collector for the past 20 years, Kiefer embodies the passion, dedication, and knowledge of a truly committed artist. Gibson celebrates that commitment with this guitar, which Kiefer personally designed to his own exacting specifications. Gibson is proud to include it in their Inspired By series of great artists and great guitars.Sutherland has channeled his love for music into championing the players he most admires. With his Ironworks studio in Los Angeles, Sutherland has nutured the careers of such talented performers as Rocco DeLuca, Jude Cole, Ron Sexsmith and Mozella. A dedicated fan of all things guitar, Keifer has amassed an incredible collection of vintage Gibsons. Drawing on favorite aspects of these instruments, Kiefer worked with the luthiers of the Custom Shop to design a stunning Inspired By model based on a Custom.
